In and around the Lincolnshire Wolds

The village of Willoughby is the birth place and childhood home of Captain John Smith, the first Governor of the state of Virginia, USA. With the help of the local chief’s daughter, Pocahontas, he made Jamestown, one of the first settlements in the New World, a success. He is commemorated in our lovely village church, where he was christened, and which is only a short walk from Jamestown Cottage.

Lincolnshire has so much to offer the visitor – history, beautiful scenery, quiet county lanes, long empty beaches, also lively coastal centres and towns.  There is something for everyone here…. and with Jamestown Cottage offering you every amenity for your comfort and ease, you have just got to give it a try, even if it’s only for a short break to recharge those batteries.
